Who we are
Bani is an app for tracking babies and young children, built in Israel. For any privacy question, write to us: hello@bani.co.il.
What is kept on your phone
What you log: the child's details (name, birth date and a photo if you added one), feedings, sleep, diapers, growth, medicines, vaccines, appointments, milestones and notes. All of it is kept on your phone, and Bani works offline too.
If you turn on the lock with Face ID or a fingerprint, the phone itself does the recognition. Bani never receives or keeps biometric data.
Family sync, only if you choose
When you connect another parent or a caregiver, a copy of the entries and photos is kept on Bani's server at Supabase, in Ireland, in the European Union. It is encrypted on the way and on the server, and the server opens it only to your family's phones.
Whoever joins the family sees what is logged in it. You can take a phone out of the family at any time. When the family's last phone leaves, everything kept on the server for that family is deleted.
An account, only if you want one
You can use Bani without an account. If you save one, you sign in with Google or with an email and password.
- Email and password: the email address and a hashed password are kept by Supabase's sign-in server. Verification and reset codes are sent to your email.
- Sign in with Google: Bani receives from Google only the account's email address, name and profile picture, and uses them only so you can sign in again and recognize your account in the family. Bani gets no access to your mail, contacts, files or anything else in your Google account.
Bani never asks for a phone number or an ID.
Information received from Google
Bani's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. This information is never used for advertising, never sold, and never transferred to anyone except as needed to run sign-in.
Family notifications
Off until you turn them on. When on, the child's name and the kind of action (such as "feeding") pass through the notification services of Expo and of Apple or Google, to reach a family member's phone. Medical details, such as a medicine's name, are never sent in a notification. Reminders you set for yourself stay on your phone.
Technical error reports
If something goes wrong in Bani's code, a technical report goes to Sentry in the European Union, so we can fix it fast. It holds only the kind of phone, the system version, the Bani version and what failed in the code. No name, no entries, no photos and no location. Reports are deleted after a limited time.
Your phone's backup
If your phone's backup is on (iCloud or Google), it includes Bani too, by your phone's settings. On Android, photos are left out of it.
What we never do
- Use tracking, advertising or usage-analytics tools.
- Sell or hand over data to anyone.
- Send data to doctors, health funds or anyone else.
Who uses Bani
Bani is meant for parents and adults who look after children. The child's information is entered by the parent or caregiver and stays in their control. Bani is not meant to be used by children themselves.
You're in control
- Export: export all your data to a file, from inside the app.
- Delete from the phone: in Settings, "Delete all data on this phone".
- Delete the account from the server: in Settings, "Delete account", or by email. All the ways to delete.
- A question, a correction or a request: hello@bani.co.il. We answer soon, and within 30 days at the latest.
Security
The connection to the server is encrypted, the data on the server is encrypted, and access is limited to the family's phones. On iPhone, files are protected by the phone's encryption while it is locked. No system is fully safe, so the server keeps only what sync needs.
This website
bani.co.il uses no cookies and no tracking tools, and its fonts load from the site itself. Like any site, the server (Cloudflare) sees an IP address for security and to stop attacks. The "How old is baby?" tool works entirely in your browser, and the date is never sent anywhere.

If we change anything important, we will update it here and in the app, and change the date below.
