Step by step
- Have everything within reach before you start: a diaper, wipes or a damp cloth, cream and clean clothes. That way you never need to step away, not even for a second.
- Change in a safe place: on a changing table, or simply on the floor.
- Open the diaper and wipe gently from front to back.
- Let the skin air dry for a moment, then close a clean diaper.
- Change about 6 to 8 times a day, and whenever there is poop or the diaper is soaked.
- Wash your hands with soap and water at the end.
Good to know
- On a changing table: one hand always on the baby. Never step away, not even for a moment.
- Redness around the diaper area: wash with water and soap and apply a suitable cream. If it does not clear in a few days, or there are sores, show a doctor or nurse.
